Supreme Court Strikes Down IEEPA Tariffs

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that the broad tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) exceeded the president’s statutory authority. In a 6–3 decision, the Court emphasized that tariff authority rests with Congress, not the executive branch.

While the ruling is significant, there are no implementation instructions yet from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). As of now:

  • No refund procedures have been announced

  • No guidance has been issued on suspended collections

  • No formal operational changes have been published

Until direction is released by CBP, the White House, or the Department of Justice, import operations should continue as normal.

We are actively monitoring developments and will provide immediate updates once procedural guidance, refund mechanisms, or compliance adjustments are announced.
